Same pitch, different screens: P3.91 rental, outdoor and transparent

A P3.91 label describes pixel spacing, not a complete screen design. SP3.9, HH3.91 and TS3 all publish a 3.91 mm pitch, yet their cabinet formats, protection, brightness and maintenance access differ. Compare the actual models against the installation brief before choosing by pitch alone.

Three models from the same pitch group

The following values are copied from the named model sheets. They describe these examples, rather than every rental, outdoor or transparent screen.

The SP sheet writes both cabinet sizes and their corresponding resolutions. Pair the size with the matching resolution; do not take one dimension from the long cabinet and a resolution from the square one.

SP3.9: choose around the rental build

SP3.9 offers square and long cabinet formats, making cabinet count and wall layout part of the comparison. Its published protection is IP30 on both sides. If the brief is for a weather-exposed rental screen, compare the appropriate SPW model and its own datasheet rather than treating this indoor SP example as outdoor-rated.

For the quotation, describe the assembled dimensions and the planned service access. Cabinet geometry alone does not establish every rigging, curved-build or compatibility option.

HH3.91: choose around the outdoor installation

HH3.91 specifies a larger cabinet grid, IP66 front and rear and a brightness of at least 5500 nits. Those are relevant differences when comparing it with the indoor SP3.9 example. The same published pixel pitch does not remove the need to check mounting, maintenance access and the conditions at the actual location.

Use the selected HH model's power and brightness figures in the project calculations. Do not infer an energy-saving percentage from a series name or substitute a value from a different electrical variant.

TS3: choose around the view through the screen

TS3 adds a different requirement: the sheet states 92% transparency. That matters when the brief includes a view through the display, such as an indoor glass-facing installation. It also specifies IP20 and rear-service access.

Do not choose it as an outdoor replacement for HH3.91 just because it is bright or has the same nominal pitch. Check the transparency, content and light at the proposed position, and compare TS Outdoor separately if the installation requires its outdoor specification.

Which should enter the shortlist?

  • For rental work, compare the required cabinet layout and the exact indoor or outdoor variant.
  • For an outdoor advertising wall, compare protection, site brightness requirements and maintenance access.
  • For a see-through indoor screen, compare transparency and how the content appears against the background.

Send the installation location, screen size, nearest viewer and service arrangement with the enquiry. These facts allow a useful model comparison; the pitch label alone cannot decide it.
